Cruise Passenger is giving readers the chance to experience one of the world’s most desirable destinations aboard APT’s newest luxury vessel, RV Samatha.

Since Myanmar opened its doors to international visitors following decades of isolation, it has fast become the travel hotspot of Southeast Asia. This is no surprise, given its authentic charm, natural beauty and friendly people who are eager to welcome tourists.

The 15-day journey begins in the capital city of Yangon, cruising up the Irrawaddy past gilded stupas, lavish temples, bustling villages and colonial forts.

The ship calls at the famed archaeological site of Bagan, home to more than 2,000 stupas dating back to the 11th century, before finishing in the royal city of Mandalay.

There are just 30 spacious suites on board RV Samatha, each with twin or panoramic balconies and decorated with rich fabrics and dark woods.

Onboard facilities include a swimming pool, spa, two restaurants (one of which is under the direction of Australian celebrity chef, Luke Nguyen), a bar and complimentary Wi-Fi. Local beer and wine with meals, tipping, transfers, sightseeing and port fees are all included – the only thing you’ll need in your pocket is your camera.

The price is for two people in a twin panoramic balcony suite, valued at $13,990.
