Princess Cruises orders its largest ships yet – three new Voyager-class ships each accommodating up to 4700 guests

Princess Cruises has ordered its biggest ships yet – three new Voyager class ships each accommodating up to 4700 guests.

The next generation, mega-ships will be delivered in late 2035, 2038 and 2039.

The cruise line has just signed an agreement with Italian shipbuilder, Fincantieri to build the new Voyager-class ships which will be the largest ever built for Princess Cruises.

“The Voyager class will delight both our loyal guests and attract the next generation of Princess guests,” said Princess Cruises President Gus Antorcha.

The new ships will feature expansive open decks, new staterooms and a redesigned Piazza which will serve as the social hub of the ship.

There will also be significant changes across the ship’s dining venues, entertainment spaces and pool areas as the line upgrades its onboard experience.

“From exceptional dining and inviting pool environment to elevated entertainment and beautifully reimagined spaces throughout the ships, we are leaving no area untouched as we thoughtfully evolve the Princess experience,” Anorcha said.

The new builds will use liquefied natural gas (LNG) as its primary fuel source. Similar to the Sun Princess and Star Princess, the new Voyager-class ships will operate as dual-fuel vessels but running primarily on LNG.
