- The Scenic Group has announced it will dedicate two luxury yachts to Australia and the Oceania region.
- The Scenic Eclipse II and a new Emerald Cruises yacht will offer itineraries around Australia, Asia, the South Pacific in 2027 and 2028.
- The itineraries will span countries like Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Australia and much more.
Emerald Cruises and Scenic Luxury Cruises are arresting Australia’s appetite for ultra luxury small ship cruising, with Eclipse II back and a brand new Emerald super yacht sailing here for the first time.
Scenic Eclipse II has already found a niche here, but following the launch of Emerald Kaia in April, the line will launch two more superyachts – the Emerald Raiya from 2027 and the Emerald Xara in 2028.
The first of these yachts will explore Asia and Australia and the Emerald Xara will operate 15 new itineraries across these regions.
This includes Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia’s Raja Ampat islands, before venturing south to Darwin and the rugged coastlines of Australia’s remote Kimberley region and onto Papua New Guinea.

Scenic Eclipse II’s return to Oceania
The Scenic Eclipse II will return to the Oceania region in 2028.
The Scenic Group said there has been an overwhelming response from cruisers to commit yachts on itineraries in the region after successful 2024 and 2025/26 seasons.
Tom Batchelor, Acting Vice President, Deployment, Product & Port Operations – Ocean said “We are delighted to be bringing Scenic Eclipse II back to the Kimberley, Oceania and East Antarctica from March 2028, following two highly successful seasons that highlight the region’s strong appeal for world‑class expedition and discovery journeys.
“Launching Emerald Xara for her inaugural season means guests can explore this extraordinary part of the world across both of our brands, reflecting our confidence to deliver unique experiences in the region, plus our commitment to growing Scenic Group’s presence across all continents globally.”
The Scenic Discovery Yacht will operate an extended program across the South Pacific, sailing from Tahiti through the Pacific islands to Australia’s Kimberley coastline.
The voyages will continue over the Top End and down to Hobart, before travelling to New Zealand for two voyages to East Antarctica’s & the Ross Sea, then onwards through Indonesia’s Spice Islands to Japan and South Korea.
Scenic Eclipse II and Emerald Xara 2028/29 voyages are now open for pre‑registration, with Scenic’s worldwide discoveries voyages program available to book with Super Earlybird offers.
