Chateau Saint-Martin & Spa are bringing guests into the world of famous painter and ceramicist Agnes Sandahl. The hotel’s art gallery is currently hosting exhibits of many of the artists most unique pieces.
Agnes Sandahl’s work is inspired by many of the artists from her region of Saint-Paul de Vence. This includes Picasso and Braque. Her use of colour mirrored the colours of Chateau Porvencal, leading to the embracing of her art by the region.
The current exhibition has some of her large-scale paintings and ceramic plates. They are presented in a way to complement her use of abstract work. The ceramic work is also on display at the hotel restaurant. Le Saint-Martin restaurant is Micheli-starred and Ms Sandahl’s presentation plates now adorn the tables.
Guests of Chateau Saint-Martin & Spa will be treated to an exclusive tour of the Agnes Sandahl gallery, in the charming pottery town of Vallauris. This will include a private tour of the studio where many of her most famous works have been made, and a demonstration from the artist herself.
