Your holiday kicks off with a scintillating stay in Tokyo where over three nights you will discover the delights of the fast-moving metropolis interspersed with ancient shrines and serene 17th century gardens.

You will be blown away by the mesmerising landscapes shrouded in pink hues of falling cherry blossoms. Indulge in some of the most delicious cuisine, presented and crafted to perfection. Make sure you visit the Imperial Palace, home to Japanese royalty and the Meiji Shrine before heading for your pick of some of the best shopping streets in Ginza.

The next day, you will be escorted to the view the stunning Mount Fuji with its walking trails and shrines. Ride the famous Hakone Ropeway cable car where you will watch the steam spiralling up from the hot springs. Then take a boat boat ride om Lake Ashi to take in the natural beauty of the crater lake before boarding the high-speed bullet train back to Tokyo.

You will then board the elegant Noordam for an unforgettable 14-night cruise circling the coast of Japan. Your first port of call is the small city of Kochi with its stunning Chikurenji Temple perched on the mountain of Godaisan to take in the panoramic views. Then visit how Japanese handmade paper is produced and sample sake in one of the city’s traditional breweries.

Next up is the Kagoshima known for its towering active volcano and the geothermal wonderland of hot springs, geysers and gardens filled with 800 cherry trees while the Kotsukigawa River lined with 5000 cherry trees.

Noordam will then call at Nagasaki, a beautiful city surrounded by majestic mountains. Steeped in history and influenced by the Spanish, Dutch and Portuguese culture, visit the Atomic Bomb Museum for an insight into the devastation the people and city suffered during World War II.

Sailing into South Korea, Noordam will call at Busan where you will be amazed by its sprawling beaches, magnificent mountains and opulent temples. Visit the enthralling Gamcheon Culture Village.

Back on the ship, listen to some jazz at BB King’s Blues Club before settling down to a romantic dinner at one of the many restaurants.

Your next port of call is Kanazawa which is a gem of a town with elegant houses, historic districts and the Kenroku-en Garden with its eclectic mix of samurai streets, teahouses served by geishas and amazing modern museums.

When Noordam sails to Niigata, a city blanketed in amazing hues of pink cherry blossoms. It is a nature lover’s paradise. Take a cable car to the summit of Yuzawa for some surreal views of the city.

After a day at sea you will arrive at Otaru, known as Venice of Japan with its network of well-preserved canals. Stroll by the canals and stop by the famous Nikka whiskey distillery in Yoichi.

At Aomori, surrounded by natural beauty and ancient culture, the city bursts into life during the cherry blossom season. Explore the Aomori Museum of Art.

This is in sharp contrast to the city of Hakodate, with its laidback atmosphere and fresh seafood. The historical city has many colonial influences such as the Victorian inspired churches and architecture.

After another day at sea, you will return to Tokyo, armed with wonderful memories of your amazing cruise around Japan.
