Regent Seven Seas has sold out of penthouse suites and above within hours after they released their 2023 world cruise this week.
The 143-night, 2023 world cruise from Miami to Barcelona has seen twice as many reservations as the Regent 2022 world cruise, setting a new record for the biggest number of sales for a Regent world cruise. All penthouse suites and above were sold out within a matter of hours.
The line now has the longest waitlist for a world cruise in its history.
Regent Seven Seas president and chief executive officer, Jason Montague said the response demonstrates people’s desire to cruise despite the ongoing pandemic.
The 143-night journey aboard the Seven Seas Mariner will visit six of the seven continents including three stops in Australia to showcase Darwin, Cairns and Thursday Island in far north QWueensland.
While the Penthouse, Horizon View, Mariner, Grand, and Master suites have all sold out, Concierge and Deluxe Veranda suites are all still available. Fares range from AU$102,980 to AU$280,000 per guest which is roughly $720 per guest per night at the lower end of the range.
“This record-breaking 2023 World Cruise launch day demonstrates people’s willingness to take long cruises to exotic lands and the substantial appetite for luxury travel our guests have and it is a testament to the unrivalled Regent experience that our outstanding crew have perfected,” Mr Montague said.
The 2023 world cruise falls short by two days of being Regent’s longest cruise, stopping at 42 countries, with 72 ports of call covering more than 70,000kms.
Three new additions to the world itinerary will see guests dancing the night away on the shores of Bali for an evening of lively music and Balinese-inspired dinner in a tropical sea-side garden, visiting the largest greenhouse in the world in Singapore and taking in the grandeur of The Swakop River Canyon with a sunset dinner, close to Walvis Bay in Namibia.
