Video: first look inside the stunning new Celebrity Apex
NewsThe first video of the much-awaited, 2900-passenger, Celebrity Apex has just been unveiled as the line is determined to launch its newest Edge-class ship despite the coronavirus crisis.
The video footage of Apex’s virtual delivery ceremony, believed to be the first of its kind, shows the ship’s dramatic and chic new spaces from the Grand Plaza, stylish restaurants, the exquisite villas at sea to the spacious solarium.
Apex will have 10 complimentary dining options and seven, new specialty restaurants including Raw on 5, greenery-filled Eden and the French Le Grand Bistro. There will be 11 bars and lounges. The most talked about is the Eden, a towering atrium with a sea of plants adorning the bar. You can admire the herb wall while you sip a fresh botanical cocktail.
There is a 23-metre outdoor pool, framed by two spaceship-like hot tubs, a Class pool for suite guests and an indoor pool in the solarium.
Apex guests will never tire of things to do, from experiencing the ever-changing Magic Carpet to taking in a performance at sultry The Club or the main theatre. For kids, there’s even an on-board ‘camp at sea’, offering hundreds of fun-filled activities, the line said.

Celebrity Cruises president and chief executive Lisa Lutoff-Perlo is confident that Apex will debut on her inaugural sailing from Barcelona on 20 May.
“Every delivery is unique just as every ship is unique. While the circumstances are quite unique right now, it’s fitting that such an innovative ship as Celebrity Apex would have a digital-age delivery.
“Celebrity Apex is a magnificent ship and I am so proud to welcome her into our family. I look forward to calmer waters when we can welcome guests aboard the newest addition to our beautiful fleet. I have great anticipation for her first sailing out of Barcelona on 20 May,” she said at the virtual delivery ceremony.
Apex has 1467 cabins including balcony staterooms, Aqua Class Spa accommodation and an exclusive Retreat area packed with luxury suites. The ship will have 1320 crew.
