- Celebrity Xcel is Celebrity Cruises upcoming cruise ship, set to debut later this year.
- The ship will feature The Bazaar – a brand new space.
- This new space will transform consistently to reflect the destinations it visits, offering more immersion.
We continue to learn more about Celebrity’s upcoming ship Celebrity Xcel, with the ship set to have a first of its kind, multi-story space, known as The Bazaar.
The function of The Bazaar will be not only to serve as an activity and entertainment hub of the ship, but especially a space that serves as an extension of the destinations the ship visits, in an attempt to maximise the feeling of immersion for guests.
Essentially, The Bazaar will transform itself day-by-day, offering activities, entertainment and culinary experiences aligned with the culture of the port that Xcel is visiting.
Examples of what this will look like is an ever transforming market, featuring local artisan and hand-craft products. Other ways this transformation could be realised could be the onboard celebration of a festival happening in the port town, pop-up food experiences, curated entertainment and more.
The ship will be sailing in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, meaning that guests can expect experiences designed around specific Caribbean and Meditaranean countries and cities.
The idea revolves around the idea that the interaction with the destination won’t only happen while ashore, but that the new Bazar space will make guests feel like they’re immersed in the destination for a longer amount of time.
Celebrity has also already announced the order of Xcel’s sister ship, set to arrive in 2028.
