Call it the return of a ‘star’ to the galaxy of cruises Down Under. The arrival of SuperStar Virgo in Australia after a decade has many cruisers excited. The flagship of Star Cruises’ Asian fleet, SuperStar Virgo arrived today morning at White Bay terminal, coinciding its arrival with Carnival Spirit and P&O’s Pacific Pearl.

Superstar Virgo is synonymous with Asia, the 4-star resort style ship is in Sydney for a 14-night summer cruise from Sydney to Singapore. Departing Sydney on December 10, the Star Virgo will make port stops at Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Bali, reaching Singapore on December 23.

Australia is a big market for Star Cruises, contributing nearly 20 percent to its passenger volume.

Weighing 75,000 tonnes, the ship will be carrying 1800 passengers and 1000 plus crew onboard. Guests aboard will be delighted to an array of dining and entertainment choices with restaurants offering many Asian specialties, Indian, Italian amongst other cuisines. There’s also a private karaoke room, video arcade, Galaxy of the Stars for live music, dancing and a lounge theatre called Lido. You can also indulge in retail therapy with the duty-free shops.
