Renderings of The Dome, The Piazza and some of the Sun Princess’ cabins are now available.
Last week we revealed Princess Cruises’ latest ship, the Sun Princess, which will host more than 4,000 guests per sailing on what will be the cruise line’s biggest ship yet.
New details have emerged of what the interior of the ship will look like, and it’s lush.
Onboard, there will be 29 bars and restaurants. It will also boast 1,500 balconies – the most of any ship in the fleet.
It’s also going to be powered by Liquified Natural Gas (LNG), which burns cleaner to reduce emissions.
“What we’re really about with Princess is pushing the future, pushing innovation, pushing things greater and greater for our guests, but simultaneously embracing our heritage,” John Padget, Princess; president, told USA TODAY.
Deck plans for the ship’s guest room locations are now available on Princess’ website, but the exact locations of public areas onboard are still being kept hush-hush.
Get a sneak-peak of what the Sun Princess will be:
The Dome
Inspired by the cliffside terraces in Santorini, this relaxation zone will feature an indoor and outdoor pool during the daytime, and be taken over by a stage for a nighttime entertainment area.
All this will be housed within a first-of-its-kind glass dome.
The Piazza
This light-filled atrium spans multiple decks and offers ocean views to guests as they pass through the space. It’s inspiration has been taken from the town squares in Europe, so we imagine this to be the main hub of the ship.
Pictured in the middle is the large LED lighting piece we wrote about last week.
Staterooms
The Sun Princess will offer eight room types:
- Signature Suite
- Signature Sky Suite
- Cabana Mini-Suite
- Mini-Suite
- Deluxe Balcony (pictured above)
- Premium Oceanview
- Interior
- Accessible
The Deluxe Balcony cabin will be about 235 square feet (about 22 square metres). It features floor-to-ceiling glass doors, either a queen bed or two twins, a refrigerator, TV, private bathroom with shower, a closet and a seating area.
This room is almost double the size of the 136-145-square-foot interior cabin.
The largest cabins on the ships appear to be the Signature Sky Suites (pictures not available) at 1,262 square feet – or 117 square metres. Stays in these suites come with all the trimmings, including a shore-side concierge, reserved bungalows at Princess Cays, champagne on arrival, two full bottle bar setups, complimentary wine tastings, ultimate balcony breakfasts and dinners and an ensuite with both bath and shower.
