Regent Seven Seas starts construction on its newest class of ship

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has started the construction of its newest ship, the Seven Seas Prestige.

The new ultra-luxury ship is scheduled for delivery in 2026 and it’s the first vessel from a new series. This is the first new class from Regent Seven Seas in a decade.

Marking the start of the ship’s build, a steel-cutting ceremony was held today at the Fincantieri-Marghera shipyard in Venice, Itali.

Seven Seas Prestige represents a new era for Regent Seven Seas Cruises as we once again elevate standards in ultra-luxury, all-inclusive vacations,” said Andrea DeMarco, President of Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

Also in attendance at the ceremony were Harry Sommer, President & Chief Executive Officer, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd; Patrik Dahlgren, Executive Vice President Vessel Operations, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd; Francesco Semeraro, Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations, Regent Seven Seas Cruises; and Alberico Trivellone, Senior Vice President, Newbuild and Refurbishment, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. Representing Fincantieri were Luigi Matarazzo, General Manager of the Fincantieri Merchant Ships Division, and Marco Lunardi, Shipyard Director of the Marghera yard.

What do we know about Seven Seas Prestige?

The Seven Seas Prestige will have capacity for 850 passengers and the ship will have one of the highest space-to-guest ratios in the industry.

The line is updating the extravagant Regent Suite as well as adding new stateroom categories. There will also be new dining options onboard.

The debut of this new ship class follows its very successful Explorer-Class ships, also constructed by Fincantieri: Seven Seas Explorer (2016), Seven Seas Splendor (2020) and Seven Seas Grandeur (2023).
