MSC Cruises will dangle passengers over the edge of the ship as one of the attractions on the new cruise ship World America.

The Cliffhanger attraction will seat four riders at a time on hydraulic arms that will lift them over the edge of the ship, before propelling them back and forth, about 50m above the water.

Brave cruise passengers will soon be able to board the giant swing that dangles them over the edge of the ship with nothing between them and the ocean below.

The terrifying Cliffhanger will be the only over-water swing ride at sea when it opens next year onboard World America when she makes her debut in April 2025.

Family fun on the top deck

The ship of 2614 cabins and 22 decks is so big that it’s been divided into seven ‘districts’. The Cliffhanger is part of ‘Family Aventura’, where bumper cars, water slides and a high ropes course will offer an activity for all the family on the ship’s top deck.

Family Aventura is centred around The Harbor, a revolutionary new outdoor park where families can play together, grab drinks and snacks, and soak up the sun. There is also a family area and a playground modelled after the lighthouse at Ocean Cay, the private MSC Marine Reserve in the Bahamas.

Family Aventura district is also home to Doremiland, the action-packed kids area with facilities featuring age-appropriate activities for everyone from babies to teenagers.

The ship is so big that it’s been divided into seven ‘districts’, with the Cliffhanger being available in the ‘Family Aventura’ part of the ship, where you’ll also find bumper cars, water slides and even a high ropes course if you’re feeling daring enough.

Other highlights will include an 11-deck-high-slide, six pools, 14 hot tubs and roller discos. Its huge water park experience comes complete with slides including a VR experience.

Meanwhile foodies will enjoy 13 restaurants, plus 20 bars and lounges on board, including a classic British pub and a gin bar.

Host of ‘districts’ to choose from

Other districts on the ship include Galleria, home to dining venues, shopping and games “at the heart of the ship,” and Zen Area, an adults-only zone at the vessel’s stern where guests can enjoy music, catch some sun and take a dip in twin pools.

MSC Yacht Club  is MSC’s signature ship-within-a-ship experience offering a private and secluded retreat. It includes 24/7 butler service, priority embarkation and disembarkation, exclusive lounge and dining areas, and more.

The Aqua Deck is a go-to destination for the ultimate pool day at sea. Two main pools are surrounded by a versatile pool deck where the mood changes throughout the day. It also includes wellness offerings and a tranquil atmosphere in the morning and then transitions to an upbeat and entertaining vibe throughout the afternoon, followed by high-energy parties at night.

High up at the stern of the ship lies the adults-only Zen Area, an exclusive enclave for relaxation and rejuvenation. It is the ideal spot for quiet sunbathing and swimming with breathtaking ocean views.

Plenty of food and drink options on World America

The Galleria is a bustling district at the heart of the ship lined with dining options, shopping and games. Food and beverage venues include the Dolce Vita Bar, afternoon coffee and sweet treats at Jean Philippe Chocolat & Café, and grab-and-go favorites around the clock at Luna Park Pizza & Burger.

Galleria also includes the MSC Luna Park Arena, a high-tech entertainment venue perfect for hosting themed parties and gameshows.

Furthermore, The Terraces features nine restaurants and bars, four retail shops and a comedy club that also serves up dueling pianos and late-night karaoke.

The lively outdoor Promenade, meanwhile, is a vibrant space with spectacular views, framed by a spiral architectural masterpiece – a thrilling 11-deck dry slide. The Promenade also features an authentic Emporium coffee bar plus other drink and dinner options.

During her inaugural season starting in April 2025, MSC World America will sail from Miami with 7-night itineraries to some of the most sought-after destinations in the Eastern and Western Caribbean, with stops at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve – MSC Cruises’ unique private island paradise in The Bahamas.
