Valentine’s Day may have come and gone but it looks like more women are celebrating Galentine’s Day – booking all-girls getaways according to a latest survey commissioned by Norwegian Cruise Line.

More than 80 per cent see all girls’ trips as a worthwhile way to foster meaningful connections among the fairer sex.

And the most popular holiday destinations are Australia and New Zealand with 61 per cent heading there, followed closely by Europe at 50 per cent and Hawaii 33 per cent according to a survey of 1000 Australian women conducted by OnePoll on behalf of NCL.

“It’s all about celebrating the unsung heroines of our lives – girl pals. Founded by legendary but fictional Leslie Knope from the popular American sitcom Parks and Recreation more than a decade ago, Galentine’s Day – February 13 – shows how important the extraordinary connections women share with their female friends and family members.

The survey also found that more than 80 per cent said that all girls’ trips are a worthwhile way to foster meaningful connections with 54 per cent feeling closer to their friends and 65 per cent feeling refreshed after taking a girls’ holiday.
