They can look forward to a myriad of dazzling experiences and entertainment inspired by sheer fantasy and adventure – without leaving the ship.

After much speculation, President of Disney Signature Experiences, Thomas Mazloum has officially announced Disney Adventure will be Singapore-bound from next year. The ship will be homeported for five years in a partnership with Singapore Tourism Board. Additionally, the ship’s arrival in Singapore marks Disney’s debut in Southeast Asian waters.

Why Singapore?

Disney Adventure will sail out of Singapore year-long and is likely to visit ports in Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and Indonesia. Southeast Asia is a diverse region and home to over 40 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In addition, it is likely that the ship may also cruise to Australia and New Zealand on longer itineraries.

Last year, Disney sent its first ship, Disney Wonder to cruise in Australia and New Zealand.

Disney purchased Global Dream, a 208,000 gross tonne ship in November 2022 when it was previously owned by Genting Hong Kong when the company went into administration. Then the 70 per cent complete Global Dream was supposed to accommodate 9000 passengers.

What’s onboard

Under Disney’s plans, the ship will be reimagined in line with Disney fleet with the iconic Mickey Mouse-inspired exterior, themed restaurants, Disney animation at Animator’s Palate and dazzling musicals like Frozen at the Walt Disney Theatre. Disney Adventure can accommodate up to 6000 passengers and will be the largest in the Disney fleet as Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, each has capacity for 5000 guests.
