Carnival Splendour to head to Aussie waters

The 3,000 passenger Carnival Splendour will be joining P&O Cruises Australia in 2019, making her bigger than any of the lines’ ships. This will mean for Aussie cruisers there are more opportunities to cruise with P&O as the line will be doubling its capacity in just four years. P&O Cruises Australia President Sture Myrmell said that the decision is to maintain the pace of P&O’s growth momentum. “We benefit from being part of a global organisation with a worldwide fleet of cruise ships that ensure we have the flexibility to make the most of opportunities in our region and to adjust our strategies accordingly,” he said. “Having reviewed the market, we believe a 3000-passenger ship is the right sized ship for the P&O fleet to drive further sustained growth in our market.”

P&O launched new onboard app

One of Australia’s favourite cruise lines, P&O has launched its onboard app for its guests. Passengers will be able to use the WhatsOn app to plan their activities, make bookings and share their experiences throughout their cruises. The app allows families and friends travelling together to send messages to one another, check in and ‘like’ locations as well as recommend activities, ensuring no one misses out on any holiday fun. Guests can also book shore tours with a few clicks, check their onboard account, view special promotions available across the ship and keep up to date with the latest news from around the world. With the app also providing the daily schedule of activities for the entire cruise, guests can book their preferred activities online and create a wish list for each day.
