Royal Caribbean has officially opened bookings for Ovation of the Seas newest sailings. Earlier this month, the line announced four new itineraries after an overwhelming demand for the Australia’s largest ships.

The new cruises include two short cruises – a five-night Tasmania taster as well as three-night weekend sampler cruise.

There will also be two mid-length cruises – an eight-night voyage to Tasmania and South Australia and a 12-night sailing to New Zealand and the South Pacific. Calls on this cruise include Auckland, Tauranga, Bay of Islands, Noumea in New Caledonia as well as Mystery Island in Vanuatu.

Ovation of the Seas will then set sail on a 14-night repositioning cruise from Sydney to Singapore and will call at Brisbane, Darwin and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

Ovation of the Seas was officially launched last week, departing Southampton in the United Kingdom on a 52-night cruise. She will call at a number of stops in Europe before sailing through the Middle East before making her way to her christening ceremony in Tianjin in China.

Her Godmother, Chinese actress and superstar Fan Bingbing will officially christen her, ready for her season in China.

She will then set sail for Sydney, first touring the West Coast before arriving at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in December.

It is believed Royal Caribbean will be holding a big welcome party for Australia’s most technologically advanced ship.

But Ovation’s arrival hasn’t been joyous for all. Guests who were booked on the original repositioning cruise, which was set to depart on January 23, took to social media to express their anger at the announcement. Many said that they were disappointed that the line had not informed them before announcing the four extra cruises.

But Royal Caribbean assured passengers who had booked accommodation and flights from Singapore that they would be compensated.
