Azamara Cruises has unveiled one of its biggest seasons ever for 2028 including a full sailing season in Asia.

The small-ship cruise line, known for spending a longer time in port to enable guests to have a deeper immersive experience in different destinations, said that its 2028 season is one its most ambitious and destination-focused seasons in its history.

Known for its small ship and big vibe, Cruise Passenger was onboard the Azamara Onward on a voyage from Sydney down the Sapphire Coast to the New South Wales port of Eden before cruising onward to Melbourne.

What Azamara does so well is incorporating the onshore experience with what is offered as part of their shore excursion program.

In Eden, Cruise Passenger took a tour of Twofold Bay into Beowa National Park before learning about Eden’s rich whaling history.

The new late night and shore excursion offerings

Azamara will have more than 360 late night and overnight stays in ports so that guests can spend more time ashore to explore the destination without the crowds.

Other new ports include Porto Empedocle in Sicily and Liepaja in Latvia.

In Asia, Azamara will offer 33 sailings aboard Azamara Pursuit and guests will be able to explore multiple countries including Japan, South Korea and China in a single extended voyage. The itineraries have been carefully selected to tie in with more than 10 regional festivals and cultural celebrations.

On select itineraries, Azamara will include some scenic river cruising on the Guadalquivir River into Seville, the Garonne into Bordeaux, the Seine into Rouen, the Yangtze River into Shanghai and the Mekong Delta to Ho Chi Minh City.
