Celebrity Apex which will be christened by best-selling author, Reshma Saujani on 30 March in Southampton, will mark the second of four new ships under the cruise line’s Edge class moniker.

The 2900-passenger Apex will feature several distinctive innovations debuted by her sister ship, Celebrity Edge two years ago. This includes the movable cantilevered deck known as the floating Magic Carpet where guests can eat and drink and soar to deck 16.

Apex will also have The Retreat, an exclusive experience for suite guests with bigger staterooms and verandas and the two-storey Edge Villas with their own private terrace and plunge pool.

“Celebrity Edge changed the cruise industry and raised the standard for modern luxury vacations. Celebrity Apex, the second ship in our revolutionary Edge series, goes even further. It takes every onboard experience to the very peak of what’s possible at sea,” said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises.

Apex will introduce new menu offerings from Celebrity’s Michelin-starred chef, Cornelius Gallagher including a 3-D digital animation dining at Le Grand Bistro and a new Eden dining experience with ingredients sourced from local farms and fisheries.

The ship will also debut three new stage shows at The Theatre and an intimate cabaret show in The Club with classic circus acts and aerial acrobatics.

There will also be new wellness program including the first-at-sea F45 Training, a unique, 45-minute heart-rate workouts, yoga and flywheel sports.

Celebrity Apex will debut in April with sailings to European destinations including the Norwegian Fjords, Spain and Portugal. After her Northern European mini-season, Apex will sail the Mediterranean before repositioning in the Caribbean for the winter season.
