Carnival Cruise Line’s new adults-only cruises continue to prove extremely popular and a range of new sailings have been added.
Four cruises on Carnival Firenze have been added for October and November, with the ship to sail with only adults onboard for 39 straight days. While these cruises are still new, Carnival’s SEA (sailings exclusively for adults) have been selling out and with the new additions, they look like they are here to stay.
Those who have been onboard have extremely positive things to say, with many cruisers commenting how they felt they got to enjoy the ship in a totally different way and enjoyed the tranquility of not having kids running around.
Until now, none of these cruises have been announced for Australia, but with the continued expansion of these sailings, it could shape up as a possibility for the future.Â

Carnival offering adults-only sailings is especially significant because it’s known as a family line, and offers very affordable fares. If you want to cruise without kids onboard you can sail on luxury lines and you’re unlikely to come across many kids, but Carnival’s adults-only sailings given adults the chance to enjoy the ship to themselves, and enjoy an accessible and affordable holiday, centred more around entertainment and activities than luxury and pampering.

Who else offers adults only cruises?
- Virgin Voyages: Virgin Voyages came onto the scene precisely with adults-only sailings as their main selling point. They no longer offer sailings in Australia but have plenty of options for cruises around Europe and the USA. Prices are a step up from Carnival and they offer a less traditional type of cruising, but Virgin’s offering is extremely refined and is a great option for adults-only cruises.
- Oceania Cruises: Oceania has recently become an adults-only cruise line. Being more of a premium line, their ships were never exactly infested with children, but they now officially won’t allow under 18s onboard. Oceania offers a more small ship and premium experience than Carnival or Virgin, but doesn’t have as many entertainment options or things to do onboard.
- Ambassador Cruise Line: This British cruise line isn’t super well known to Aussies as it’s never sailed here, but it does offer an adults-only experience and also extremely reasonable pricing. You can cruise out of several places in the UK and enjoy a relaxed, child-free experience.
- Viking Cruises: Viking is another adults-only line, offering more a luxury, high-end experience. Viking ships are much smaller than Carnival or Virgin and fares are much higher than the other options, but you can guarantee yourself a luxurious experience with an extremely reliable cruise line.
