Music festivals at sea have taken off in the United States and, thankfully, cruisers Down Under are set to see an emergence of them.

Earlier this year, Travel Superstore announced the very first electronic Sea ’N Beats as the first music festival in Australia, featuring DJs and artists like Alison Wonderland, Hayden James and Hot Dub Time Machine.

But they’re not just for young ravers – here are the five best music cruises coming up across the world.

Cruisin Country 5

This is the fifth year Choose Your Cruise has organised Cruisin Country onboard Royal Caribbean’s Radiance of the Seas. The festival features homegrown artists including Troy Cassar-Daley, Adam Brand, Sara Storer, Adam Harvey and The McClymonts. Choose Your Cruise has also organised other music cruises like Rock the Boat, a ’50s and ’60s rock-and-roll themed cruise. The ship departs Sydney on October 9 and heads to destinations like Loyalty Islands, New Caledonia and Vanuatu.

It’s The Ship

It is Asia’s largest music festival at sea and this is its second year. Following its success in 2014, this year’s line-up includes Kaskade as the headlining act, Peking Duck, Will Sparks and many more. The festival is held onboard Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas and departs Singapore on November 20, 2015, stopping at Langkawi in Malaysia for a beach party, then heading back to the sea for more acts.

Sail Across The Sun

Sail Across The Sun is for cruisers who love a fine drop and a mellow tune. Train is back to host the festival for the third year in a row. Held onboard the Norwegian Pearl, the ship sails from Miami, Florida to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. So while you enjoy your wine tasting, greats like Michael Franti & Spearhead, Phillip Phillips and Andy Grammer will be playing. The cruise departs Miami on February 11, 2016.

Keeping The Blues Alive At Sea II

This is the second year Keeping The Blues Alive At Sea festival will be sailing. With popular American Blues singer Joe Bonamassa headlining on Norwegian Pearl, this festival celebrates up-and-coming artists. Some of the other Blues singers include Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Blues Traveler, Beth Hart and Marc Broussard. The round-trip itinerary departing Miami, Florida, on February 16, 2016, visits Cozumel in Mexico. There will be two live shows by Joe Bonamassa.

Bravo!

Music-theatre favourite Anthony Warlow, who has appeared in stage productions like Phantom of the Opera, The Secret Garden and Doctor Zhivago, is headlining Bravo!. The cruise, hosted on Royal Caribbean’s Radiance of the Seas, will depart Sydney on October 24, 2015, and sail through the South Pacific. Theatre-music enthusiast guests will have the opportunity to mingle and meet the stars onboard.
