Ambassador Cruise Line, the premium value British brand, has launched its world cruise itineraries featuring special legs where guests can sail from London to Sydney or Auckland.

These are priced from just £3769 per person or £76 per night for this once-in-a-lifetime voyage, sailing on the lovely Ambience ship.

The itinerary

The itinerary starts from the iconic port of Tilbury just outside of London and takes Ambassador guests through beautiful destinations in the Azores and Caribbean before sailing through the South Sea and onto New Zealand.

The first port of call on this epic journey is the historic city of Rotterdam, which has a rich maritime and seafaring history. The city is famous for its modern architecture and landmarks like the Erasmus bridge, the market hall and its cube houses.

Ambience will make landfall at Ponta Delgada, the capital of the Azores archipelago. This beautiful town filled with Gothic churches and Azorean artefacts is flagged by rolling green hills and crystal-clear water.

In the Caribbean, the cruise calls at Bridgetown in Barbados, which has lovely beaches and colourful houses. During the day in port, guests can visit Carlisle Bay, which is home to six shipwreck dive sites and Browne’s Beach, where they can spend the day snorkelling and enjoy lunch at the yacht club.

Another highlight in the sunny Caribbean is Willemstad, which is the capital city of Curacao, a Dutch Caribbean Island. With its pastel-coloured colonial architecture, it’s worth taking a stroll along the water. Here, the 19th-century Rif Fort is now a major shopping area and here is where you will find dishes influenced by Dutch and Afro-Caribbean cuisines.

Ambience continues her way towards the Southern Hemisphere, passing through the Panama Canal, before crossing the Equator.

She then reaches some unique destinations in French Polynesia like Nuku Hiva, the largest of the Marquesas Islands. Considered as one of the world’s most remote locations, the pretty landscape stretches onto a kaleidoscope of rocky peaks, cliffs and deep valleys. There are interesting places like the Tohua Koueva Archaeological Site which has undergone meticulous restoration, where guests can learn about the island’s cannibal history.

Ambience then visits Nukuʻalofa, the largest city in Tonga. With lovely buzzy markets and picturesque churches, it is the place where visitors can swim with whales, snorkel, scuba dive and fish.

It’s the last stop before Ambience makes her way to Auckland, where guests can disembark and fly on home. But if guests decide to stay on for a few extra days, the ship sails and makes anchor in the Bay of Islands that is home to vast stretches of undeveloped beaches and significant Maori cultural artefacts.

Spend the last few days at sea discovering the ship, before sailing through the iconic Bradley’s Head into the majestic Sydney Harbour, a must-do even for keen Australian cruisers.
