Your holiday kicks off in Singapore where you will spend one night exploring the Lion City known for its cosmopolitan lifestyle with striking skyscrapers sitting next to Buddhist and Hindu temples and world-renowned hawker food offering a spectrum of flavours from spicy chill crab to chicken rice – both national dishes of the city state.
The next day you will embark Cunard’s elegant Queen Victoria for your gentle sailing to Cape Town. The liner has been designed with plush public areas to gourmet cuisine and luxurious cabins – all exuding classy comfort.
Indulge in the ship’s sumptuous afternoon tea served by white-gloved waiters, catch a show at the grand Royal Court Theatre and dance the night away in the magnificently grand Queens Ballroom. Dining onboard Queen Victoria offers a choice of Cunard favourites like the Britannia Restaurant, Lotus for Asian cuisine or Smokehouse for an American-inspired menu. You can also sip a G&T or chilled bubbles at the Champagne Bar – one of many elegant bars and lounges. You can also nibble on a croissant in Café Carinthia.
Your first port of call is when Queen Victoria docks at Sri Lanka, Colombo where old meets new. Stroll past colonial buildings and lush gardens in the Fort district and experience its dizzying array of stylish new restaurants, galleries and museums.
Queen Victoria will then cruise to Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius which has something for everyone – from shopaholics, birdwatchers, water enthusiasts to history buffs. You can spend time relaxing by its beautiful beaches or visit the Blue Penny Museum which houses two of the world’s rarest stamps – the red one-penny and blue-penny stamps of 1847.
When the ship sails into charming Port Elizabeth in Africa, you may be lucky enough to spot sightings of a whale or two. Known as the friendly city, Port Elizabeth is a thriving coastal town with fine sandy beaches, a European-style town squares and excellent museums including the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum.
You will disembark Queen Victoria and spend two nights in popular Cape Town which faces the Atlantic Ocean surrounded by the majestic Table Mountains.
