When Explorer sails to Kyoto, Japan’s old imperial capital, you will have a wealth of choices to visit some amazing temples, shrines and ancient Nara, the cradle of Japanese arts, literature and crafts. The next stop is Kochi, bursting with abundant natural landscape from rugged mountains to the north, Tosca Bay to the south, Cape Muroto to the east and Cape Ashizuri to the west.

At Hiroshima, you will be moved by stories of its turbulent past and the unforgettable atomic bombing. Today it is known as the City of Peace with a world heritage site, the Peace Memorial Park.

Get your first taste of South Korea when Explorer sails into Busan, the second biggest city about two-and-a-half hours from its capital, Seoul. Known as the summer capital of South Korea, Busan has exceptional beaches, scenic cliffs and ancient temples built high in the mountains.

When you will cruise to Kagoshima, the southernmost major city also known as “Naples of the Eastern World”, you will notice the majestic Mount Sakurajima, one of the world’s most active volcanoes, dominating the city’s landscape.

She will then cruise the Coral Sea and call at Cairns, Townsville and Airlie Beach where you can soak up the laid-back, tropical atmosphere of the coastal village, gateway to the Whitsundays.
