Norwegian Epic was launched in 2010 and underwent refurbishing projects in 2015. With a length of 1,081 feet and a gross tonnage of 155,873, it is one of the largest ship in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet. With plenty of activities, entertainment, bars and restaurants, Norwegian Epic is popular with groups of friends, couples and families with kids. It has 15 passenger decks and can carry 4,100 passengers and 1,724 crew.

There are 2,114 staterooms on board Norwegian Epic in 38 different categories. There largest accommodation on board is The Haven Deluxe OwnerÂ’’s Suite at 852 square feet, with a large balcony. There 128 studios for solo travellers. All cabins have ample storage space and various amenities (salon-style hairdryer, mirrored vanity table, mini-fridge, television and toiletries by Elemis).

There are more than 20 dining destinations on board Norwegian Epic. Taste and the Manhattan Room are the main dining rooms and offer freestyle dining (no set time or table). For Asian dishes, guests can visit the Shanghai’s Chinese Restaurant and Noodle Bar. Buffet meals are offered at the Garden Café and The Great Outdoors. Specialty restaurants include: Moderno Churrascaria (Brazilian steakhouse), Teppanyaki and Wasabi (Japanese); Cagney’s Steakhouse; Le Bistro (French) and La Cucina (Italian).

Norwegian Epic offers various ways for their guests to relax and stay healthy while traveling. The Mandara Spa has a full list of treatments including hot-stone massage, facials, mani/pedi, acupuncture, Botox and teeth whitening, as well as a thermal suite. The Pulse gym has treadmills, ellipticals, free weights and yoga, Pilates and spinning classes. The Sports Complex has two decks with a full-sized basketball court, batting cage, rock-climbing wall, the first-ever rappelling wall at sea and a climbing cage. There are five pools, nine hot tubs, a jogging track and a bowling alley on board.

The Splash Academy splits children into groups for age-appropriate activities. Kids can play Wii and Playstation 3 and dance the day away on the dance floor. Teenagers have their own club called Entourage, with video games, jukebox, fooseball table and air hockey. At night the club turns into a teen disco. The Aqua Park has two pools, five hot tubs, kids’ pool and three multi-storey water slides including the the 200-foot Epic Plunge. There is also a bowling alley and climbing walls for kids. For those wanting some quiet time, Spice H20 is an adultÂ’s-only area.

“All in all I like but don’t love the ship, the solo cruisers program is amazing and I wish got a little more participation. They do need a single person for the solo’s though. I found that just as the person was getting used to hosting us the next cruise they assigned a new host. They also do not get much time to spend with us and would often time spend their free time with us so that we could goto shows/dinner and be able to interact with our other solo’s. It started out VERY disorganized but Krysta picked it up again fairly quickly.  “-tgirl25
