Royal Caribbean has revealed Wonder of the Seas, which is set to become the world’s largest cruise ship, will set sail from Shanghai and Hong Kong in 2022.

These voyages will range from 4-9 nights that will take you through the Far East to see all the best of Japan. Between March and November, round trips will run from Shanghai to Japan, passengers will be feasting on the best beef in Kobe, splashing around in the islands of Okinawa and soaking up the rest of Japan’s beauty, culture and cuisine.

After November, Wonder of the Seas will follow the sun to the warmer climates of Hong Kong. Then from November 2022 through to January 2023, cruises will set off from Hong Kong and port in destinations such as Vietnam, South Korea and Taipei. Mr Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International is excited about the announcement: “China continues to be one of the most important parts of the world for Royal Caribbean. It will be a remarkable moment to see years of partnership realised when the industry’s newest, most innovative ship becomes Shanghai’s new city skyline and takes cruise travel beyond imagination.”

If you haven’t acquainted yourself with the facilities that Wonder of the Seas has on board, get ready to be excited. The ship has a unique eight neighbourhood design, including a new Suite Neighbourhood that features world-class dining, private lounges and more just for suite guests. This is joined by the open-air AquaTheater, that will play host to acrobatic and aquatic performances, Ultimate Abyss, the tallest slide at sea, the action-heavy Pool & Sports Zone and so much more luxury and entertainment packed into the 236,857 tonne vessel.
