The Pacific Adventure is the line’s newest ship to call Australia home and it will feature new family entertainment areas, dual racing waterslides as well as an Edge Adventure Park.

The 3,100-guest ship will join the P&O fleet in October 2020 and at the heart of it is a new indoor-outdoor space is designed for families to spend time together on holiday enjoying group games and activities.

“We spend a lot of time listening to what our guests want from a cruise and have seen a growing demand for family-friendly entertainment areas where family groups can spend valuable time together,” says Mr Myrmell, P&O Cruises President.

“The new family entertainment area means kids and family groups can have a bit of fun together in some friendly competition over a game or two, listening to great music or hitting the waterslide or indoor-outdoor pool.

The dual racing waterslides “Twin Racer” is first-of-its-kind, according to the line. The slide has two 135 meter tubes and it is designed for people to race each other to the finish, with transparent sections so racers can keep tabs on their opponents.

The waterslides are part of the new family entertainment area, which also includes a pool under a sliding glass roof so guests can swim any time of the year.

For the more adventurous, guests can experience the P&O Edge Adventure Park with a flying fox, “Walk the Plank” and rock climbing wall built next to the “Twin Racer” waterslide and offering unrivalled views of the ocean from its very top.

Or guests can also take it back old school with Pacific Adventure’s quirky take on traditional family activities including lawn bowls, table tennis, hop scotch and quoits to name a few.

Families can also dance the day away at P&O’s exclusive “family only deck party”, held in the afternoon so guests of all ages including children can enjoy the best of the ship’s music and entertainment.

If you feel peckish after all that fun, guests can also order a variety of delicious traditional Neapolitan pizzas from 400 Gradi by award-winning Melbourne chef Johnny Di Francesco through their “Big Red Phone” pizza delivery hotline.

The new ship, now cruising for Princess Cruises and known as Golden Princess, will undergo an extensive refurbishment to add the latest attractions before arriving in Australia in October 2020.

The ship will sail all year round from Sydney. Bookings for sailings through to mid-2021 are available now. Fares start from $849pp for a twin-share cabin on the six-night cruise to the Melbourne Cup departing Sydney on October 31, 2020.
