Big Broadway productions, saucy dance moves and amazingly large entertainment spectacles are exactly what you’ll find onboard Norwegian Cruise Line ships.

The line offers guests a range of shows which include the Tony award-winning productions, Jersey Boys and Rock of Ages as well as tailor-made entertainment like ¡HAVANA! Here are five of our favourite Norwegian Cruise Line shows.

Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

Based on the iconic Australian film of the same name, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert has been a Broadway favourite for decades. Now on the Norwegian Epic, the show follows the life of three drag queens, Bernadette, Adam and Tick. The tripod buy a bus and decide to travel through the Australian outback where they meet some unlikely friends and hostile characters. The show featured music from Cyndi Lauper, Madonna and more. The production features more than 200 headdresses as well as 500 costumes.

Rock of Ages

Showing on the Norwegian Breakaway, Rock of Ages, a high-energy production has picked up five Tony’s. Lead-produced on Broadway by Jonathan Linden and Michael Cohl, Rock of Ages is one of the longest running Broadway shows. The classic love story features some of the best rock hits of the 1980s, including “Here I Go Again” and “Every Rose Has Its Thorn.” Set in 1987, this Broadway hit tells the story of a small-town boy and girl who head to California to pursue their dreams. The two meet and fall in love, accompanied by some of the best classic rock hits by legendary bands such as Guns N’ Roses.

¡HAVANA!

If you like saucy dancing and beautiful costumes, this new production which made its debut on the Norwegian Bliss is just your thing. ¡HAVANA! Was created by the Tony award-winning director and choreographer, Warren Carlyl. The production is a celebration of Cuban music and dance in the 50s, the heyday of the Central American country. The productions’s costumes were designed by big Broadway names like Ruben and Isabel Toledo.

Cirque Dreams

Norwegian Cruise Line’s Cirque Dreams is a one-of-a-kind Broadway show based on Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy. This show was specifically developed for Norwegian Cruise Line by Cirque Dreams founder and Broadway director Neil Goldberg. Cirque Dreams takes place in the colourful big-top Spiegel Tent on board Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Breakaway, and Norwegian Getaway. The show kicks off with a special dining experience followed by dramatic interactive performances. Fantasy transformations, award-winning costumes, and world-class acrobats round out the show. Impressive feats of coordination and balance will wow guests of all ages. Watch the performers impressively execute the jaw-dropping choreography while you enjoy a fine dining experience.

Jersey Boys

Following the life of the famous Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Jersey Boys made its debut on Broadway in 2006. The Tony award-winning production is on the Norwegian Bliss, which sails around Alaska. Guests can sing along to timeless hits like “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” and “Walk Like A Man”.
