Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas, one of Australia’s most loved ships, will return this wave season with a completely new look.
She’s undergone a $138 (USD$97) million refurbishment which includes a number of firsts for the Australian market.
She’ll be sailing in Aussie and Asian waters from October 21. Before heading Down Under, Voyager of the Seas will be sailing on a number of three to five night Southeast Asian itineraries from Singapore followed by her season in Australia.
The ship will be homeported in Sydney to the South Pacific on nine to 12-night itineraries starting on November 30.

Here’s what you can expect to find aboard the new Voyager of the Seas:
New family facilities
The line is increasing the number of family-friendly facilities and activities. The ship will have a new laser tag course called Battle for Planet Z. It will be a glow-in-the-dark adventure takes place in a universe of the distant future. Two groups – the aliens and robots – have to battle it out to claim the last planet in this make-believe world.
Voyager of the Seaswill also be redesigning the dedicated kids’ club area, ranging from the baby to teen areas. The Adventure Open club, designed for kids aged between three to 12, will have a new modern, free-playing area with new activities. The line is also offering mums and dads a new nursery for babies and tots called Voyager. For the three to five-year old’s, there is also a new area created for them. There will also be a new updated teen hangout which will have a special outdoor deck for them to hang out in.
Royal Caribbean, famed for its thrilling rides, is adding two new waterslides. The Perfect Storm waterslides, a duo called Typhoon and Cyclone. The three-storey ride is a highspeed ride where you and a friend can compete to see who races down the fastest. The ship also still has favourites like the FlowRider surf simulator, rock-climbing wall and mini-golf.
Spa and wellness
The enhanced Vitality Spa and Fitness centre will be relocated to the after of the ship. The new spa and gym will have services like massages, acupuncture, manicures, fitness classes and personal training. There new Solarium area is an adults-only retreat where guests can relax after their treatments.
Suites and staterooms
Voyager of the Seaswill have 72 new inside and balcony staterooms. And for guests staying in Grand Suites categories and above, a new dedicated Suite Lounge and outdoor area. There will also be a new Diamond Lounge for Royal Caribbean’s Crown & Anchor Society loyalty program.
The reimagined ship will also feature the new Royal Caribbean International mobile app. Travellers can soon check in for their cruise holiday from their phone, and once on board, the app will deliver an array of capabilities. From exploring and planning activities for each day of the itinerary, and viewing onboard expenses, to booking and managing dining, shore excursion and show reservations, guests will be able to seamlessly transition into holiday mode.
