Princess’ new Sun Princess floated out this week in a special ceremony.

She is set to sail her inaugural season in the Mediterranean next year and is the largest Princess ship ever constructed, with the ability to host 4000 guests. It will also be the first Princess ship to be powered by Liquified Natural Gas, an environmentally superior option to traditional fuel. Sun Princess is the first of Princess Cruises ‘Sphere Class’, marking an elevated level of luxury, entertainment, and design.

Princess also announced that it has appointed Gennaro Arma as captain, leading Sun Princess shipbuilding operations, readiness and delivery, and overseeing the ship’s final stages of construction, working closely with brand’s naval architects, engineers and shipbuilding experts, as well as the shipyard management team.
