Silversea, the luxury cruise line, will debut its immersive Sea And Land Taste (S.A.L.T.) program for guests onboard the Silver Nova later this year.

S.A.L.T.’s menu will draw on the local region’s ingredients and culinary history. The line will launch S.A.L.T. when the 728-guest, Nova sails into Asia Pacific later this year.

What S.A.L.T. is all about

S.A.L.T. is the cruise line’s award-winning Sea And Land Taste program which offers a deeper connection to places and cultures through curated food and wine experiences. Guests can spend the day with one of the ship’s chefs brushing up on their cooking techniques or go on a shore excursion to learn about the food culture at a local market. Onboard, they will be able to taste local recipes cooked with locally sourced products with a Silversea twist. They can also visit S.A.L.T. Bar for regionally inspired cocktails by master mixologists and watch how locally made botanicals are infused into the alcohol and drinks.

Silversea’s expansion plans

Silversea is keen to expand and further develop Australia as a source and destination market. Managing director Adam Radwanski said the cruise line hopes to grow the local guest capacity by 35 per cent in 2025 and 2026 with the arrival of three bigger ships in the region – Silver Cloud, Silver Nova and Silver Moon.

“We’re giving the best possible ships so we can maximise the revenue opportunities and yields,” he told website Cruise Weekly in an interview.

Silver Shadow on a World Cruise voyage arrived in Darwin on 7 March and will be in the Kimberley on 10 & 11 March.
