Silversea’s Silver Whisper set sail on the ‘Legends of Cruising’ world cruise from Fort Lauderdale on January 6 which will visit all continents of the world including a three-day Antarctic exploration.

The 140-day voyage will travel to 62 destinations in 32 countries. Guests will also be treated to many of the line’s new launches like their new cocktail programme which features 62 regional drinks and local ingredients and a collection of 33 brand new, bespoke shore experiences.

Travellers can embark on a musical and culinary journey in San Juan hosted by an acclaimed artist; attend a private performance of a world-renowned folkloric ballet troupe in Salvador da Bahia; delve into the Polynesian culture with a celebrated anthropologist in Moorea.

In Singapore, enjoy a four-course lunch prepared by a celebrity chef; a candlelight dinner under the stars in the Red Sea desert; marvel at Caravaggio’s masterpieces in Rome’s churches and museums; and tour the Royal Yacht Britannia in Edinburgh with the last-serving admiral, among other experiences.

Also, for the very first time on a Silversea World Cruise, travellers will get to do Zodiacs activities. Led by the line’s Expedition Team, the activities go to view penguins, seals and other animals in their natural environment, as well as large icebergs, before landing at designating landing spots for on-shore discovery.

The line has also lined up a series of guest lecturers throughout the sailing, including world-renowned Australian author Thomas Keneally who will come onboard Silver Whisper when she is in Sydney on March 20.

“It was an honour to bid our guests bon voyage ahead of our World Cruise 2020,” says Roberto Martinoli President and CEO of Silversea at the line’s bon voyage reception for their world cruisers at The Breakers at Palm Beach.

“Legends of Cruising is our most immersive World Cruise to date, offering an unprecedented range of experiences. From Fort Lauderdale to Amsterdam, Antarctica to Aqaba, the variety of destinations discovered by our guests will showcase the authentic beauty of the world like never before. Our guests’ enthusiasm for the voyage has been reflected in the exceptionally strong booking numbers.”

The world cruise will conclude in Amsterdam in May 25 after circumnavigating the world.
