Scenic has unveiled an expanded range of itineraries and new destinations for 2028/29 to tie in with the inaugural launch of its latest new addition, Scenic Ikon.

Guests will be able to cruise to East Mediterranean, Adriatic, Aegean, Atlantic Seas and West Africa with new land excursions in Italy, Malta, Turkey and Greece.

When Scenic Ikon launches in April 2028, she will focus on lesser- known destinations, iconic islands and smaller harbours. She is the third in Scenic’s ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht series and she is designed as a larger sister ship to the Eclipse fleet.

Ikon accommodates 270 guests across 135 all-verandah suites. The vessel boasts 15 dining venues, a massive two-level spa, and premium expedition equipment.

She is a Polar Code 6 Ice Class 1A Super hull vessel for navigating both warm-water destinations and polar regions. She is equipped with two Airbus H130 helicopters, a custom Triton AVA submersible, Zodiacs, and luxury Fassmer tenders.

There will be new itineraries to the Greek Islands calling at Naxos, Milos, Paros and Hydra. On the Adriatic Sea, she will call at Kotor, Dubrovnik and Zadar. There will be visits to Istanbul, overnight stays in Egypt featuring a visit to the Pyramids of Giza. There will also be voyages through the Dardanelles, a narrow strait in northwestern Turkey to explore Troy and the ANZAC Cove.

Scenic Ikon will also sail further west expanding its Atlantic and West African offerings with visits to Cape Verde and Dakar.

Scenic Ikon will be joined by the line’s two yachts, Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse II which have all been purpose-built to access smaller harbours and remote locations that are beyond the reach of larger cruise ships, thus bringing guests closer to the heart of each destination.

This means that guests will be able to combine their cruise with an expanded range of land excursions along the coastlines and inland regions in one continuous journey.

The land journeys will include luxury hotel accommodation, transfers, selected meals, guided experiences led by a dedicated Scenic tour director.

“The handrcrafted land journeys have been designed to align pre- and post-Scenic Discovery Yachts voyage, so guests can link storied coastlines, cities and inland regions into one continuous experience, enjoying the ease of a single, seamlessly curated journey, all delivered by Scenic,” said Angus Crichton, Director of Land Product Scenic Group.

They will also enjoy private chauffeur airport transfers at the start and end of the journey.

Penthouse suites guests will also be entitled to a helicopter landing experience to play golf at Sicily’s Verdura Resort or France’s Terra Blanche. The helicopter ride will also include visits to Portonovi and Elba’s Tenuta delle Ripale and truffle hunting in Croatia.

Ikon Penthouse guests will also have access to Scenic Ikon’s exclusive Chairman’s lounge, a private retreat with its bar and special dining facility.

Under the line’s Super Earlybird offer for departures between April 2027 and April 2029, guests will get a complimentary 20-minute helicopter flightseeing experience in Europe, the Mediterranean and the Americas.
