Princess Cruises announced the name of its fourth Royal-class ship – the Sky Princess will be the sister ship to Royal Princess, Regal Princess and Majestic Princess.

The ship will debut on 2019 on a series of Mediterranean voyages.

Highlights include; a soaring central Piazza-style atrium, Princess Live! entertainment venue, the relaxing adults-only Sanctuary, Camp Discovery youth and teen centres, and a wide variety of new and guest-favourite dining venues including the Salty Dog Grill, Slice, Alfredo’s Pizzeria, Vines Wine Bar, Chef’s Table Lumiere experience, and World Fresh Marketplace, with updated décor and design throughout the ship. Sky Princess will also feature the outdoor “Movies Under the Stars” theatre, and 80 percent of all staterooms will have balconies. Finally, some exciting new innovations which will enhance the guest experience even further will be revealed in the coming months.
Sky Princess continues a Princess Cruises legacy and honours one of our previous ships,” said Jan Swartz, group president of Princess Cruises and Carnival Australia

“When Princess merged with Sitmar Cruises in 1988, Sky Princess joined our fleet and sailed with us for 12 years. Now, more than 30 years later, a new Sky Princess will join the fleet featuring our modern design platform and contemporary innovations, offered to exceed our guests’ expectations.”

The inaugural Mediterranean deployment of Sky Princess features 10 cruise departures on eight unique itineraries, including a new seven-day Mediterranean roundtrip Rome voyage. Combinable with a seven-day Mediterranean Barcelona to Rome for a 14-day Western Mediterranean Medley voyage, the itinerary will call in to some of the most iconic ports in the Mediterranean Sea.

Adding to this news, Princess has revealed additional noteworthy voyages for the 2019 season, with a focus on European itineraries. Highlights include Princess’ return to Greenland on Pacific Princess, new departures out of Dublin on the popular British Isles voyages aboard Crown Princess, and the opportunity to search for the Northern Lights in Norway on Sapphire Princess, sailing the longest season ever out of London (Southampton), England.

“The 2019 season features five ships sailing to 130 destinations from the corners of the Mediterranean to the northernmost tip of Europe.” said Vice President Princess Cruises Australia and New Zealand, Stuart Allison.

‘We anticipate that Australian and New Zealand guests will take full advantage of our fly cruise offering and combine back to back itineraries to form longer voyages to see some of the incredible destinations across Europe and the Mediterranean whilst only unpacking once.”
