Carnival Splendor recently emerged from drydock with a new exterior look, and had passengers wondering what might be new on the inside.
Now, it has been revealed Carnival Splendor has a range of new features, from a new eatery, to a revamped spa, freshly retouched staterooms and more.
Kara Glamore, Carnival Cruise Line Australia vice president said: “From her beautiful new look outside to the upgraded amenities and new entertainment on board, Carnival Splendor has more fun to offer our guests sailing from Sydney than ever before.
“Carnival is set to be Australia’s largest cruise brand from early next year and we’re proud to continue to provide new ways to bring more fun to our guests.”
So what’s new?
A new eatery and menu updates
- A new dining option will be available, with Mad Sizzle on deck 9 set to serve up kebabs and satays with slow roasted meats.
- Masala Tiger will instead jump to a larger location on deck 10. The restaurant will have a new a la carte dinner offering, building on its exisiting lunch menu.
- Other restaurant menus have been updated, such as Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse, where guests love heading for T-bone steaks and New Zealand pink snapper.
Stateroom tweaks
- The ships balconies have received full refurbishments, with a new look for cruisers to check out.
- Suites now have brand-new whirpool tubs, adding an extra touch of luxury.
Wellness upgrades
- The basketball court and jogging track have both had a makeover for those who like to get out doors. There’s also some new equipment in the gym.
- The Thalasso therapy pool at Cloud 9 spa has been refreshed with some new features and designs to check out.
What’s new for the kids?
- The mini-golf course has been completely redone, leaving a new course to explore and master.
- Carnival WaterWorks has been redone, including adjustments to the watersides and Splashy Cove.
- Kids Clubs have been given new activities, Camp Ocean and Club 02 have new video gaming areas as well.
What else?
- The Casino and some retail shops have been redone and refreshed.
- A new production showed has been added, called “Dear Future Husband”, a pop musical that tells the story of a couple that have just been married on a Carnival ship.
My granddaughter’s first cruise, hope she loves it, of course I’ll be there as I have had many cruises with Princess, P&O. Looking forward to the third generation coming with me.

Looking forward to cruising in March with my niece. Been on several P&O cruises so it will be interesting to experience Carnival Splendor. Cruises are what you make them but refurbishments always add to the experience. Bring it on.

I’m very excited. This is my first time on a carnival cruise ship and it sounds wonderful. I do wish I had a state room tho as I enjoy a good hot tub. Can’t wait to see you guys on the 18th sept.
