Pacific Explorer just docked for the final time – here’s what she’ll look like as Star Voyager

  • Pacific Explorer has docked at Singapore, marking the end of her final sailing.
  • She will now continue as Star Voyager, for Resorts World Cruises.
  • Here’s what we know so far about what the newly-done ship will look like.

Today, Pacific Explorer docked in Singapore, marking the end of her last-ever voyage under P&O cruises. The ship was sold to Resorts World Cruises, where she’ll operate cruises out of Singapore and from other ports in Asia as Star Voyager.

Cruise Beyond SG has captured her final arrival in Singapore, marking the last time cruisers would step off the ship as part of P&O Cruises.

The next stop for the ship affectionately known as ‘Dora’ will be the shipyard, where USD$50 million will be poured into giving her a makeover and making her part of the Resorts World Cruises fleet. The work will be done quickly, with her first sailing as Star Voyager on March 26, just over a month from now.

Her full list of itineraries can be viewed here, with a series of roundtrip sailings, many of which offer the opportunity for guests to board at different ports, meaning they can start and finish their sailings in places like Jakarta or Ho Chi Minh, instead of only in Singapore.

But what will Pacific Explorer look and feel like in her new life as Star Voyager? We don’t know exactly, but the first clues have been delivered.

The above images offer a first look into some of her remodelled cabins and deck.

The new Star Voyager brochure offers some further information into what she’ll look like and what to expect on board in terms of dining, entertainment, and accommodation.

While the descriptions of the new ship are not too specific, it can be seen that the ships Lido Deck and Water Park will be just some of the features that are reworked or re-imagined into the design of the new ship.

The deck plans in the brochure show the names of many new venues, but don’t reveal details on exactly what to expect from them.

Given the relatively short turnaround time of the ship’s drydock, it can be expected that the ship won’t look too dissimilar from Pacific Explorer. Many spaces and venues will be reimagined or updated versions of their Pacific Explorer equivalents.

The venues we do know

  • Dream dining room: The main dining room with a mix of Asian and Western Flavours.
  • Velvet Lounge: An elegant bar with ocean views.
  • Little Dreamers Club: A kids club equipped with games, workshops, costume parties and a DJ Booth.
  • The Lido Restaurant: All-inclusive dining with seven different concept stores.
  • Dream Boutiques: The stop to go shopping with a range of international brands and boutiques on offer.
  • Symphony Spa: The new spa offering onboard Star Voyager.
  • Zodiac Theatre: The spot to catch a show onboard.

  1. I was on the final cruise from Fremantle to Singapore.I had the pleasure of meeting Mark the new third officer on The Star Voyager. He told me what the plans were for The revamp and I will endeavour to once again travel on this lovely ship.

  2. We went on the last voyage and it was most disappointing. As things broke down they were not repaired/ replaced. The shop was closed within a few days of boarding. Food was repetitious and not enticing. Wine choice ran out. Entertainment was ok, daily entertainment repetitious and boring. Cabin was ok, but again things didn’t work eg bed lamps and toilet seat loose. Had to pay for water and most things. Disembarking at ports disorganised.

  3. I travelled on Pand O “explorer” in January 2023 and around New Zealand. Fantastic ship, fantastic experience
