Oceania Cruises has a new member of its luxury fleet, taking delivery of new ship Vista. Built at Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, the ship comes out to 67,000 tonnes and will take 1200 guests.

Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises said: “Today we usher in a new era for Oceania Cruises with the delivery of Vista.

“We could not have built such an exceptional ship without the close partnership enjoyed with Fincantieri. We thank each and every person who had a hand in bringing her to life. From the smallest of design details to the largest per capita galley at sea, Vista is a marvel that will be enjoyed by guests for decades to come.”

The new ship will sail its first season over the Mediterranean summer, before heading to Canada and New England, followed by the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America.

Vista will have three brand new restaurants for guests to enjoy. Ember will serve up contemporary American cuisine, Aquamar Kitchen will be focused around wellness and health foods and The Bakery will serve coffee, as well as French and Italian pastries.

Oceania says the ship boasts the most spacious staterooms at sea and a market-leading staff to guest ratio, with two crew members for every three guests.

Luca Manzi has been announced as captain of the new ship, a graduate of of the Marine Academy and Navy Academy, being captain of Vista is an exciting new chapter in Mr Manzi’s three-decade career.
