Norwegian Cruise Line is increasing its daily gratuity by US50c with the increased rates set to start from April 2020.

For passengers in standard cabins, the daily gratuity will increase to US$15.50 per person, per day, up from US$15.

Those booking full suites or Haven suites will see gratuities rise to $18.50 per person, per day, up from $18.

Passengers already booked for sailings departing after April 1 have until March 31, 2020 to prepay their gratuities at the current rate.

All passengers, aged 3 or over, are required to pay the gratuity.

The line has said that anyone who wishes to contest the service fee must do so by mail after their cruise has ended.

This will be the third year in a row NCL has increased its automatic service fee.

Cruise Passenger is awaiting comment from NCL about whether this will apply to the Norwegian Jewel which is homeported in Australia.
