Ambassador Cruise Line, the new British line launched since the pandemic will see the return of affordable world cruises.

The new cruise line will make its Australian debut in 2024 with Dean Brazier, the former head of Cruise & Maritime Voyages, leading the local operations.

Many of the CMV staff have re-joined Ambassador Cruise Line, after the company went under in 2020 due to the global pandemic.

But with completely new hardware and fresh itineraries, Mr Brazier hopes that local cruisers will love the Ambassador Cruise Line offering as much as they did with CMV.

“We’ve already had a great response from the British market with most of the voyages already sold out for the 2022/23 season. The guest feedback has been phenomenal, and we expect Australian and New Zealand cruise passengers to respond well to the new line,” he said.

“We’ve in fact, already had some Australian guests book the 112-night world cruise. They will fly to London and sail back through the Pacific and sail past their home cities. After the circumnavigation of the country, they will then head back north. It’s promising to see that we already have an interest.”

Ambassador Cruise Line currently has two ships that will form their fleet – the Ambience which started her maiden season in April 2022 and the Ambition which will set sail on her inaugural in May 2023.

The ships will sail to six continents and 58 countries, calling at 165 ports.

“Ambassador Cruise Line will start sailing the Mediterranean, which CMV once left to other competitors. But so far, the 32-night Grand Mediterranean voyages have proved to be popular,” he said.

“But when you’re talking about price point, Ambassador Cruise Line is aiming at the mid-range market. On average, guests will be looking at spending around £100-120 per night.”

Mr Brazier though, said Ambassador’s world itineraries will be a big draw card due to its affordability and destination offering.

“These voyages are excellent value for money. Looking at the top suites, the price starts from £13,529 for a Standard Twin cabin to £21,500 for a Premium Balcony Suite for 112 nights.

“Ambassador though has a range of night durations – everything from overnight to the world cruise. The line though is also offering themed cruises. We have partnered with Orca which is a British organisation that studies the local marine mammal wildlife. We recently had an expert on our Fjordland cruise which went out whale watching.”

The cruise line is quintessentially British, with the line calling some of its dining areas after classic British venues. The Borough Market for instance, is one of key dining areas on the Ambience and Ambition and where guests are served a range of international fare.

And of course, if you have sailed onboard CMV, you will see the return of great Indian cuisine in the new Saffron restaurant.
