- Four Seasons has secured funding for another luxury yacht.
- This will be the second ship in their fleet, with the first set to start sailing in January next year.
- Four Seasons will be trying a different model from other luxury ships, without all-inclusive pricing.
With Four Seasons’ first-ever luxury yacht set to sail early next year, they’ve already announced a second is on the way.
The company has announced that it has secured funding of around $830 million to build another luxury vessel, which will become Four Seasons II.
Donald Mason, chief financial officer of Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings LTD, the joint owner and operator of Four Seasons Yachts, said: “With financing secured for the creation of a second Four Seasons Yacht … we are thrilled to be expanding our fleet to include Four Seasons II.
“This milestone reflects our continued growth and commitment to delivering Four Seasons’ legendary service at sea.”
Four Seasons I will start sailing in January 2026, and will have the social media-famous cruise captain Kate McCue at the helm.
There aren’t yet any details about what the second ship will be like, but the first will have 95 luxury cabins across 14 decks, with each cabin considered to be a luxury suite.
Surprisingly, Four Seasons won’t adopt the all-inclusive model that is generally employed by luxury lines. Rather, like a normal hotel, the base cruise fare will include only breakfast.
Four Seasons is among many famous hotel chains that have been looking to enter the luxury cruise space.
Ritz-Carlton, Aman, and Orient Express all have, or are planning to build luxury yachts, with many eyes on this new sector of luxury cruise to see how these hotel brands can compete with more traditional luxury cruise ships.
