- Disney Cruise Line will visit Noumea in New Caledonia.
- The ship will call to New Caledonia as part of a 14-night repositioning cruise.
- Civil unrest has forced other cruise lines to cancel ports to the popular South Pacific destination.
After cancelling a port call to Noumea in New Caledonia, Disney Cruise Line has reinstated the visit.
The visit was scheduled during a 14-night repositioning cruise on the Disney Wonder between Sydney and Honolulu in Hawaii.
Civil unrest has plagued the Australian cruise industry with multiple cruise lines like P&O Australia and Royal Caribbean, forced to cancel visits to the popular South Pacific island.
DCL first switched its New Year’s Eve sailing from Noumea to Australia, and the ship rerouted two cruises to visit New Zealand instead.
Following a decision to cancel a call to Noumea, New Caledonia for Disney Wonder‘s February 10, 2025 sailing, Disney Cruise Line has now chosen to reinstate the port visit.
At the same time, the ship’s planned call to Suva, Fiji was adjusted to a longer visit to help compensate for the loss of a port.
Now, the port has been returned to the itinerary, and the call to Suva has been shortened.
“We are pleased to notify you that we are reinstating the original itinerary for your sailing,” the email notification read.
“As originally planned, we will be visiting Noumea, New Caledonia on Thursday and arriving in Suva, Fiji on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and departing at 7:00 p.m.”
According to Cruise Hive, Limited Port Adventures are being offered to guests as a shore excursion option. Passengers can book through the DCL app once onboard or at the Port Adventures desk.
