In Short:

Disney Adventure’s debut has drawn mixed early reviews, but the new Singapore sailings could still appeal to Australian travellers seeking a Disney fly-cruise.

  • Early reviews have pointed out some issues such as cramped interior cabins and firm mattresses.
  • Despite this, guests say the positives stand out, praising the Asian-inspired dining, Broadway-style shows and the abundance of Disney character encounters.
  • Booking demand has remained strong, and themed tie-ups across Singapore extend the Disney experience beyond the ship.

Disney Cruise Line welcomed its newest ship, the Disney

Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Adventure, has officially launched from Singapore — and early reviews suggest the massive new vessel is already generating plenty of conversation among passengers.

While guests have praised the ship’s entertainment and dining, some early feedback has also highlighted glaring issues.

One widely shared example came from social media account Theme Park Express, which posted a photo on X showing how an interior cabin configured for four people left very little floor space once all beds were down.

In a follow-up post, the same account complained about the sleeping arrangements, writing:“I DONT EVEN HAVE A DAMN MATTRESS!! They just put a cover and a thin pad on the couch cushion!”

Meanwhile, one of the ship’s headline attractions — the Ironcycle roller coaster in the Marvel Landing area — was reportedly temporarily closed during early sailings, disappointing some passengers who had hoped to try the ride.

Theme Park Express wrote on X: “Iron Cycle coaster NEVER OPENED on the Disney Adventure maiden voyage and many guests (from what I heard) voiced their frustrations and in return we were given $100 stateroom credit at 11pm the night before the cruise ended. I appreciate the offer but for those who didn’t spend much money on this cruise then it doesn’t help much.”

For many Australian travellers, the new ship has presented an opportunity to sail with Disney Cruise Line in Southeast Asia.

So is it still worth booking a cruise?

What guests have enjoyed

Despite these early hiccups, early guests say the ship still delivers plenty of memorable experiences.

Recent guest reviews from the preview and maiden sailings suggest that food is a major highlight on the Disney Adventure, with more than 20 dining venues offering a mix of Asian flavours and international cruise favourites.

Passenger Venson Wong, who attended both the preview and maiden voyage, tells us that dining was one of his favorite aspects of the cruise.

“I highly recommend trying the Asian cuisine, available both in the rotational dining venues and the quick-service outlets such as Gramma Tala’s. Disney has clearly made an exceptional effort to localise the menu to suit Asian palates,” he says.

Menus reflect the ship’s Singapore homeport, featuring dishes such as laksa lemak and Hainanese chicken rice, alongside Indian options like tandoori chicken and butter chicken at Mowgli’s Eatery.

High-caliber shows

The ship features two headline shows — ‘Disney Seas The Adventure’ and ‘Remember’ — performed at the 1,250-seat Walt Disney Theatre. Guests can expect a mix of classic and modern Disney songs, from A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes from Cinderella to Let It Go from Frozen, paired with elaborate costumes, props, pyrotechnics and digital stage effects.

“In classic Disney fashion, the shows were enjoyable for every member of my family,” Venson says. “Highlights included ‘Let’s Set Sail’, a highly energetic party that kicks off the cruise, and ‘Remember’, a show that truly pulls at the heartstrings with nostalgic moments from everyone’s childhood which was my personal favourite.”

Cool experiences and areas of improvement

Another standout was the meet-and-greet. Guests can meet Disney characters throughout the ship at scheduled appearances listed on the Disney Cruise Line app.

“Character and princess meet-and-greets are a fun activity for guests of all ages,” Venson says. “While reservations may be required (and can be difficult to secure), it’s worth the effort to enjoy a close-up moment with characters you usually only see on screen.”

Whilst highlights are many, Venson highlights one area of improvement: the reservations system.

“The app opens bookings after the Guest Assembly Drill for character meet-and-greets, activities and Day 1 shopping slots, but many of the slots were snapped up almost instantly,” he says. “While I understand the need for a scheduling system to manage crowds, constantly checking the app for availability throughout the cruise may not be the most relaxing way to spend a holiday.”

He suggests, “Perhaps a pre-assigned system similar to what is currently done for show reservations could be considered.”

Booking demand is still strong

Traveloka, a major travel booking platform headquartered in Singapore, notes that sailings are still in demand.

Several voyages have already proven extremely popular. A Traveloka spokesperson tells us that most of the March sailings are sold out, highlighting the strong initial demand for the ship’s debut season.

Booking interest has been strong across the board, particularly during school holiday periods in June and December. For a less crowded sailing experience, we recommend avoiding such peak periods.

Traveloka also reports that Indonesia currently represents the strongest booking market on its platform, followed by Singapore and Thailand.

“Demand from Australian travellers has been moderate, but we expect it to grow steadily as marketing efforts ramp up and firsthand user reviews gain more visibility,” Traveloka notes.

Across markets including Australia, travellers are showing a clear preference for three-night voyages, which allow guests to experience the Disney cruise concept without committing to a longer sailing.

Current fares

A current search on Disney Cruise Line’s website shows that mid-March 2026 sailings start from AUD 2944 for a three-night verandah cabin for two guests, including taxes and port fees — about $490 per person per night. However, these sailings are nearly sold out and reflect pricing for a premium cabin category.

Outside peak periods, prices are noticeably lower. September three-night sailings have been seen from around $253 per person per night for an inside cabin.

Looking ahead, three-night cruises in April start from $1873 for two guests in an inside cabin, or around $312 per person per night.

Four-night sailings in April begin from about $353 per person per night, while May departures drop further to roughly $319 per person per night.

For comparison, Disney Cruise Line’s previous Australian sailings aboard Disney Wonder started from about AUD 375 per person per night, meaning many Disney Adventure departures — particularly outside peak months — can be more affordable for travellers.

Tie-ups with local attractions

The arrival of the Disney Adventure has also sparked a wave of themed celebrations across Singapore, extending the Disney magic beyond the ship itself. So pre- or post-cruise, here’s what you should check out:

Changi Airport’s Terminal 2 will play host to a Disney-themed mini-show at the Wonderfall digital display section. The three-minute show  is presented like a pop-up storybook coming to life, with scenes inspired by the Disney Adventure’s seven themed areas The show runs daily with screenings every 30 minutes from now until May 31, 2026.

A 10-minute fireworks sky show held across three nights in March, illuminating Singapore’s skyline with Disney music and imagery. The 10-minute showcase will commence from 8.30pm on 13, 14 and 15 March 2026.

From 26 February to 30 April 2026, the Marina Bay precinct will play host to a Disney-themed nautical celebration featuring installations, themed activities and special promotions across the waterfront area.

Seven themed photo spots across Marina Bay attractions.Visitors can explore seven locations across the Marina Bay precinct — including Gardens by the Bay, One Fullerton, PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, Swissôtel The Stamford and Esplanade — each inspired by one of the ship’s onboard themed zones.
