Carnival Adventure is now officially part of the Carnival Cruises Australia fleet, marking a new chapter for the ship formerly known as Pacific Adventure.
The vessel is scheduled for dry dock in Singapore in February 2027. Until then, it will largely retain the look and feel of its P&O days, with a few key updates—covered in detail throughout this guide.
Originally built in 2001, the ship began its life as Golden Princess in the Princess Cruises fleet before transitioning to P&O Australia in 2020. Now entering its third chapter as Carnival Adventure, it will continue offering family-friendly holidays, sailing year-round out of Sydney.

Summary

Generally a positive experience, with some notable concerns. Guests particularly appreciated that deck plans are readily available online, the ship offers a variety of restaurants and entertainment options, and upgrades are possible if the cruise is well-booked. However, concerns were raised about the ship not being fully integrated into the Carnival brand yet, and that upgrades are not guaranteed and may require additional payment. This cruise may be suitable for many travelers, but consider whether the noted concerns might affect your enjoyment.

  1. Out of the two I have only travelled on the Adventure, when it was the Golden Princess. I*actually shuddered when I heard it was going to P&O, as the only one I have been on I classified as a Bogan Ship. For Americans, a bogan is a redneck, small minded, drinking and smoking, unexperienced and uneducated minority that makes anything good look bad. Now they have put all the bogan toys on it, that only makes it worse, I will never go on a carnival ship and I have told Princess that as they spat the dummy by stopping home porting in Melbourne, I will not sail with them again, despite being an Elite member. I may try a smaller line, but they don’t have the itineraries I am interested in.
