Costa Cruises guests will be delighted to taste fresh buffalo mozzarella on board this year aboard Costa Diadema. And it’s not just any other mozzarella, for it will be made onboard the cruise ship with buffalo milk curd sourced from Salerno, Italy.

Pretty much like any dairy production, buffalo mozzarella will be made on the cruise ship with a machine supplied by an Italian company. Guests can watch the cheese being made and enjoy the tasting fresh off the cruise kitchen. The cheese tasting will be paired with many Italian varieties, cold cuts.

The freshly produced buffalo mozzarella will be a key ingredient in pizzas and pies. Other cheese varieties like Burrata, Stracciatella and the traditional Fior Di Latte will also be served.

All of the above is part of soon to be launched gourmet bar in 2016, while the rest of Costa ships will start making buffalo mozzarella in 2017.

Celebrating Italian gastronomic traditions, Costa has announced numerous plans to bring Italian cuisine to its guests, including menus prepared by two Italian Michelin Star chefs, collaborating with maître chocolatier Guido Gobino and maître pâtissier chocolatier Luigi Biasetto to serve Italian-style sweets, partnering with leading brands like Barilla,Campari and more. Burgers aboard Costa Cruises are also made with 100 percent Italian Fasson meat.
