Celebrated Italian chef, Max (Massimiliano) who took the restaurant industry by storm when he became the youngest ever to be awarded three Michelin stars and brother Raffaele Alajmo, will add Italian star power when they join Crystal to oversee specialty dining venue Osteria d’Ovidio.

Max who has held his three Michelin stars for an unprecedented 22 years will bring his unique ability to blend tradition and innovation based on the heritage of Italian cuisine. Together with his brother, they will work their culinary magic on a new menu for Crystal’s Osteria d’Ovidio to be introduced at a later date.

 Bringing the Italian chefs onboard Crystal’s two luxury ocean ships, Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity will further enhance the line’s emphasis on culinary excellence which already boasts the only Nobu at sea, Umi Uma by Michelin-starred master chef Nobuyuki and Beefbar by Riccardo Giraudi aka as the Beefboy who will get onboard later this year.

The Italian brothers will work with Crystal’s culinary experts to ensure fresh and local ingredients are sourced for all dishes including specialty items from Italy. They will also collaborate with Crystal’s sommeliers to launch specialty wine pairings for Osteria d’Ovidio menus.
