Carnival Cruise Line to offer Asian itineraries for the first time

  • Carnival Luminosa and Carnival Adventure will be sailing around Asia.
  • There will be four itineraries which are on sale today with prices starting from $1449.
  • The ships will be visiting ports in Singapore, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan as well as Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Carnival Cruise Line will send Carnival Adventure and Carnival Luminosa to Asia for the first time in its history, offering longer journeys and very different sailings.

While the line has offered port calls in Asia during repositioning cruises, this is the first time it will offer itineraries sailing to and from Asia. The voyages are on sale today and first sailings are in 2026.

The announcement comes just a few weeks before Carnival merges with P&O Australia, giving it two more ships in the Australian market.

Carnival Adventure is offering two itineraries in 2027 that explore Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

There is also a Sydney to Singapore voyage stopping in Indonesia and a round-trip cruise from Singapore, featuring the wonders of Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

The Carnival Luminosa will introduce a 14-day voyage in 2026, sailing from Tokyo to Singapore. The itinerary will visit Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Vietnam.

Carnival Luminosa will also sail on a 14-day voyage from Singapore to Brisbane via Bali and Darwin.

The first sailing will depart Tokyo on October 9, 2026, with an astonishing five inaugural port calls en route to Singapore.

Carnival Luminosa will be the first-ever Carnival ship to visit Hong Kong, Osaka (Kyoto) and Fukuoka (Hakata) in Japan, Seogwipo (Jeju) in South Korea, and Keelung (Taipei) in Taiwan. Also on the itinerary is a visit to Phy My (Ho Chi Minh) in Vietnam.

“We’re so excited to bring Carnival’s FUN to Asia for the first time,” said Kara Glamore, Carnival Cruise Line Vice President Sales and Marketing.

“This is going to give Australians a new, affordable and thrilling way to visit multiple destinations across Asia, all while enjoying the unparalleled FUN of a Carnival cruise.”

“Asia has bustling cities, breathtaking scenery, ancient temples, and world-famous beaches, and we can’t wait for our guests to explore this magical part of the world.

“These itineraries mark a new chapter in cruising for Carnival, just as we prepare to embark on an exciting expansion to four ships in Australia, when P&O’s Pacific Adventure and Pacific Encounter join the Carnival family in March, and are renamed Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter,” she added.

The move comes as Australian travellers look for holiday bargains in closer-to-home destinations to beat the falling local dollar and cost of living crisis.

According to Skyscanner’s Travel Trends 2025 report, the most popular destinations for Australians are in Southeast Asia with destinations like Cambodia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia coming out on top of the most desired places to visit.
