Celebrity Cruises has unveiled a new luxurious The Spa on board Celebrity Edge designed to “renew, restore and reinvigorate” the experience of guests.

Spread over a sprawling 22,000 sq ft, The Spa has been designed by Kelly Hoppen, the renowned interior designer to the rich and famous, to create a “holistic wellness journey like no other on land or sea,” the line said.

Celebrity’s president and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo said The Spa will provide guests with a “deeper and more profound connection to the sea …and completely transform the spa experience and develop an atmosphere that envelops you in luxury and soothes your soul from the moment you walk in.”

The Spa will have a relaxation lounge with a Zen-like ambience to clear guests’ minds before their treatments of unadulterated pampering begin.

Restorative treatments have been inspired by the Sea, Earth and the Air (SEA). A total of 124 treatments is available including signature treatments like the Ocean Spa Wave Massage, hot mineral body boost, poultice-powered muscle release and restorative salt stone massage.

There is a SEA Thermal Suite, the next evolution of the Persian Garden on the line’s current fleet. Guests will be able to indulge in the salt room, rainfall water therapy room, float room, heated tile loungers, infrared sauna and crystalarium.

Celebrity has teamed up with Kerastase, a luxury haircare brand, to introduce the first Kerastase Institute at sea.

There is also a fitness Centre offering hot yoga, cardio boxing, Technogym Group Cycle and the first Bungee Fit at sea.

Celebrity Edge is currently being built in France at the cost of US$1 billion. She will be able to accommodate up to 3500 passengers. She is scheduled to set sail on her maiden voyage on 1 December from Fort Lauderdale on a seven-night eastern Caribbean cruise. The Edge will spend her inaugural season in the Caribbean before she repositions and cruises in the Mediterranean next year.
