It’s going to be an exciting year for the cruise industry, with a total of 21 new ships on order in 2019.

Among those, are megaships from Royal Caribbean and MSC Cruises, and Princess will be launching its largest ship in its fleet, the Sky Princess. And luxury Scandinavian line, Viking Ocean Cruises will be launching another 930-passenger ship. Here’s what you can expect next year.

MSC Cruises

The family-owned cruise line will be revealing two new ships. The MSC Bellissima which has the capcity to cater for 4,415 guests, starts sailing in March and onboard, you’ll find a new virtual assistant called Zoe as well as a new feature called MSC for Me. As part of the line’s digital program, the feature can be used in staterooms for guests who want to find out information about shore excursions and the ship, rather than from the guest relations desk.

The MSC Grandiosa has two new Cirque du Soleil at Sea shows where guests can enjoy dinner while watching the acrobatics. The ship also has the MSC Yacht Club onboard and will have a larger Mediterranean-style promenade and has shops, specialty restaurants as well as a new bar and lounge. You might find themed parties, projections on a 323-foot LED Sky screen and even flash mobs.

Norwegian Cruise Line

NCL is set to launch the 4,000 passenger Norwegian Encore which is the fourth and final Breakaway-class ship. She’ll be sailing from Port Miami on seven-day voyages to the eastern Caribbean. The ship features amazing spaces including the Horizon Lounge, exclusive to The Haven guests, as well as the lovely Observation Lounge which gives guests 180-degree view while they cruise.

Royal Caribbean International

While Spectrum of the Seas is custom-built for the Asian market, the ship has some new features, never seen before on any other RCL ships. The Quantum Ultra-Class ship will have a new private area for Golden and Silver Suite guests. The private enclave includes exclusive keycard access, a private elevator, dedicated restaurant and lounge, exclusive amenities as well as access to The Balcony for sunbathing and The Boutique, a shopping area where guests can book a private shopping experience. Also onboard is new experiences like the Sky Pad, which is a virtual reality bungee trampoline experience as well as an enhanced SeaPlex. For families, the ship also has the Ultimate Family Suite which can accommodate 11 guests. It has three-bedrooms with a master bedroom and bathroom that extends over the ship. There is also a new specialty restaurant called Sichuan Red.

Viking Ocean Cruises

The latest ship, Viking Jupiter will be launched in June 2019 and like her sister ships, has the capacity for 930-guests. There will be 465 staterooms with verandas. The public spaces have been designed in a Scandinavian style and onboard, there will be cultural enrichment programs and guests have one shore excursion on offer in every port.

Carnival Cruise Line

Carnival Panorama will be sailing the West Coast of America from December 2019. She’ll include features like the SkyRide, a track suspended in the sky where guests can race against one another and she’ll have an open-air recreation area called the SportSquare. Sailing to the Mexican Riviera including Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta, guests can stay in the Havana section that features tropics-inspired staterooms with its own Cuban-themed bar and pool.
