Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has extended its ongoing pause of global cruise voyages across all three brands – Norwegian, Oceania and Regent Seven Seas – until 1 December 2020.
The line cited the “current global environment” for the extension of the suspension of cruises until the end of November.
In addition, for some ships, the extension may be even longer with sailings on the Norwegian Dawn, Norwegian Spirit and Norwegian Star not expected to resume until March 2021.
“Given that the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact communities around the globe and travel and port restrictions in various parts of the world remain in effect, we have further suspended global cruise voyages through and including November 30, 2020, as well as all voyages onboard Norwegian Star, Dawn and Spirit with embarkation dates through March 31, 2021,” said an NCL spokesperson.
“The company will continue to work with global government and public health authorities and its Healthy Sail Panel expert advisors to take all necessary measures to protect its guests, crew and the communities visited,” NCL added.
Guests who are currently booked on voyages on NCL, Oceania and Regent Seven Seas should contact their travel agent or cruise line for more information.
“Guests who had an active reservation on a suspended cruises in November 2020 through March 2021 will automatically receive a refund of their cruise fare in the original form of a payment for the amount paid within 25 days.
“Additionally, a 10 per cent off coupon will be automatically added to the guest’s account which is valid for one year from date of issue and can be used for any Norwegian Cruise Line voyage embarking through 2022 and is combinable with any FCCs and all future promotions at time of booking,” NCL said on its website.
For Oceania and RSSC passengers, those who have paid in full will receive 100 per cent Future Cruise Credit plus a bonus 25 per cent or 100 per cent refund. Guests with bookings that are not paid in full will receive 100 per cent refund for the amounts paid for the voyages.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recently extended its “no sail” order on the cruise industry until 1 November.
