Your holiday starts when you embark Oosterdam in Sydney on 20 November. You will be suitably impressed by the ship’s three-storey atrium with its stand-out centrepiece, a Waterford crystal globe. Painted in a warm palette of colours with marble, inlaid wood and brass, Oosterdam is also renowned for its priceless artwork, antiques and six dining venues. There are speciality restaurants including fine Italian cuisine at Canaletto and great steaks at Pinnacle Grill. There are also three swimming pools and hot tubs, a jogging track, gym and wellness spa.

You will never be bored after dinner as Oosterdam is known for its lively music scene from BB King’s Blues Club, mellow tunes at Crow’s Nest to classical music at the Lincoln Centre Stage.

As you sail north towards Queensland, your first port of call is Airlie Beach where you can swim, savour a pint at a local pub or go on a Whitsunday Crocodile Safari.

Heart Reef at the Great Barrier Reef

Visit the large pink Castle Hill when you stop at Townsville and at Cairns, you can learn more about Indigenous culture at the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park. You can also take the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for great views of the lush rainforest landscape.

The next day, you will visit one of the World’s Seven Wonders, the Great Barrier Reef to take in some of the most amazing coral reefs and its infinite species of colourful fish.

The Oosterdam will then cruise the Torres Strait between Australia and the Melanesian island of New Guinea dotted with more than 270 Torres Strait Islands.

After a day at sea, you will arrive at the capital of the Northern Territory, Darwin where you can visit a crocodile safari on Adelaide River, watch in wonder the thundering waterfalls of Litchfield Park or simply stroll round Mindil Beach Sunset Market.

Your next stop is Dili, the City of Peace and capital of East Timor. Make a trip to the hilltop east of the city to view the large Cristo Rei de Dili statue which overlooks the bay.

The ship will then call at Komodo Island where you can snorkel and discover the sheer beauty of its pristine coral reefs. If there’s time, visit Komodo National Park, home to more than 2500 Komodo dragons. Weighing over 70kg, the Komodo dragon is the world’s largest lizard and reptile with its thick, long tail and fork-shaped tongue. It is also a fierce predator and can eat up to 80 per cent of its weight in one feeding.

After another leisurely day at sea, you will arrive at Broome with its rolling sandy beaches, sunset camel rides and turquoise waters. Make sure you visit Roebuck Bay, one of most beautiful natural attractions where you can witness the Staircase to the Moon, a spectacular natural phenomenon created by the rising full moon reflecting off the tidal flats of the bay.

The ship will next call at Exmouth, a beach lover’s paradise where you can explore the World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef and spot manta rays, turtles and the awe-inspiring, whale sharks.

You will then call at Geraldton, the gateway to the Abrolhos Islands with its incredible shipwrecks, colourful reefs and sea lions. You may even spot bottlenose dolphins.

You will then cruise to Perth, mooring at bustling Fremantle where you will disembark and spend two nights in Perth exploring its lively cafes, breweries and wine bars.
