The arrival of the Celebrity Edge is one of the most highly anticipated ship arrivals this year.
Built like no other in the fleet, the ship will make her debut in November 2018, decked with new features and beautiful public spaces, as well as some new entertainment. “With Celebrity Edge, we have created our biggest and most comprehensive lineup of entertainment to date. We’ve truly taken entertainment to the edge,” said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President and CEO, Celebrity Cruises.
The Theatre
The Theatre onboard the Celebrity Edge will be an immersive experience which includes four stage areas and three giant moving projection screens. The line has worked with a company to create a rotating platform which raises almost seven feet above the stage. There are also two spiral staircases, 10 synchronised panoramic projection screens as well as 16 lase projectors. All of which will be used in conjunction with the performances, crafted especially for Celebrity Edge.
- Five new full production shows include:
- The Shakespeare-inspired A Hot Summer Night’s Dream, where light-hearted theatre meets extraordinary acrobatics
- The Jewelry Box, withits jaw-dropping technological feats
- Kaleidoscope, a high-energy music and dance extravaganza harnessing thestage’s state-of-the-art technology
- Two shows as part of Celebrity’s new Headline Residency program – Get Up, a dynamic pop concert produced by Black Skull Creative, and The Purpose, an uplifting production designed to celebrate the inner self.
The Club
During the day, The Club offers experiences such as the Funovation Laser Maze Challenge, the Drone Hunting laser obstacle course, and more. At night, The Club transforms into Undercover at The Club: A contemporary spin on the Prohibition era with 20’s-inspired craft cocktails and an aerial saxophonist. The the club is a new feature called the Hypno Cam Experience – a high-tech camera that’s passed around to capture photos, which are instantly displayed on a giant LED screen.
Camp at Sea
The ship will debut a new Camp at Sea program for younger travelers, which has more than 500 activities. There are two separate areas – one for the kids and one for the teens.
Rooftop Garden
At the Rooftop Garden, guests can enjoy experiences such as the Rooftop Concert Series and the Garden Cinema Series where guests can watch movies under the stars with live musical performances.
Eden
Eden will feature evolving entertainment as the space transforms from a chilled space in the morning, to playful in the afternoon, to sinful by the evening. Daytime has activities like Meditation at Eden and performances from sitar players to aerialists. And by evening, Eve at Eden begins. This experience incorporates food, performance art as well as nightlife.
